Dorothea Braemer is an Assistant Professor in media production in the Communication Department of Buffalo State. She is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has been screened on television and in festivals in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Originally from Germany, she received an MFA from Temple University in Philadelphia in Film and Media Arts. For ten years she was the executive director of Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Arts Center in Buffalo, NY. In 2020 she became the faculty advisor for WBNY 91.3 where she collaborated with students to launch "Let's Talk, Buffalo," an interview program about topics of interest to the Buffalo State community and surrounding neighborhoods.
